Chemo brims for 2012

Check our website at www.thehatco.com in the  Ladies Hat Section for 12 new styles of cotton wide brim and bucket style hats for 2012 just added this week.  All are UV and UPV rated for sun protection.  The colors and patterns are awesome.  They aren't just head covers.  These styles have fashion  and the bright colors so prevalent this season.  We care about the needs of our chemo friends.  The Hat Co provides good looking hat styles with a purpose.  Comfort and sun protection functionality are first and foremost in our thoughts.

Cotton is King

Several chemo patients have called upon us recently to provide colorful patterns in our styles for the Spring 2012 season.  You have enough worries getting healthy.  Your wish is our command.  We have the plan for the hats you want. Soft cotton.  Soft braid straws.   All ordered for comfort on your sensive foreheads and scalp. Fortunateley, the hat world will be awash in bright colors, geometric and floral patterns,  and big brims for sun shade.  It's a feast for the hat lover in 2012.  This may be the best year for fashion design in upbeat styles of hats that we can remember.  Bright colors and big brims are in abundance.  Start looking in February-March for our choices in chemo friendly headwear on our website. www.thehatco.com. 2012 Sun Covers

Thank you dear followers for your support in 2011 of this blog about your needs under chemo.  Looking forward in 2012 we can now talk about positives such as hat fashions for you.
This coming spring, now less than 3 months away, will see the following.  Lots of bright colors and bright colors in tropical patterns.  Even straws will have bright concentric  rings of color woven into the straw.  Washed Madras hat bands aplenty as well.  The overriding theme is BRIGHT Color and Tropical.
Cotton fabrics, our Chemo friends favorite for comfort, will show this theme. Big brims with geometric designs and more tropical  will all be blazingly bright in color.  Solid color styles will incorporate these rich colors in contrasting hat bands.
Put on your shades before your visit to our ladies hat section on our website to view the "New for 2012" as they appear in late March and April.

What about Winter hats for the Chemo People?

The frigid cold of winter,  the driving sleet storms, and the  penetrating fog all pose the toughest seasonal test for our chemo friends.  Wool itchs so much.  The loss of your hair leaves one with little protection from the cold.  What to do?  Just like in clothing for winter wear, layering is the answer.  Layer #1 is your basic acrylic or polyester  "do-rag"for comfort closest to the skin. Keep that wool away. Layer #2 is a cotton close fitting brimless cap.  Finally your outer-wear hat can be wool or fur to cut out the cold and wet elements. Then when you go back indoors you already have a head cover in place when you take off that heavy outer shell.   Be prepared.  We'll talk about winter styles next time. 

Chemo Fun hats

Nobody thinks chemo is a walk in the park or a fun time.  But, seriously there is a need for warm winter hats for our chemo friends.  We can add a touch of fun and humor to what is a trying time for our patients.  The Hat Co has fun fleece lined winter hats in animal shapes like bunnies, owls, and pandas.  They all tie under the chin and are comfortable on the forehead.  Check them out in our Novelty and Costume section.  They are serious headwear for young and not so old who want a little fun in this difficult time.  They make an inexpensive gift for those with a real need.  Over the next month we will add seals, wolves, polar bears, and more to the lineup.  Keep checking.
